Special Education Center (SEC) of National Taiwan University (NTNU) was established in 1974, under the request of the Ministry of Education on “The program of Accelerating the Development of Special Education.”

The Center is the first of its kind in Taiwan. Within more than four decades, SEC was devoted to conducting research, providing guidance and consultation, sponsoring special educators’ professional training, and offering assistance in the field of special education.

Due to more students with special needs studying in NTNU, SEC’s main missions are to provide services on campus and nation-wide in Taiwan.
