SEC is a university-level center with an advisory board of committee and three sections. The center director is appointed by the NTNU President.

Section chief and full-time research fellows with expertise in giftedness education and special education are employed.

Five resource room Project Staff, more than twenty full-time research assistants and administrative Project Staff are hired in the center.
