Basis:
Regulations Governing the Implementation of Transportation Services for the Physically Disabled Students Unable to Get to and from School (dated: Jun. 27, 2013); Reference Table for Current Expenditure Subsidy for Counseling Program for Students with Disabilities of Universities and Colleges under the Implementation Guidelines for Subsidizing Colleges and Universities to Recruit and Counsel Students with Disabilities by Ministry of Education (amended in accordance with the decree on Sept. 16, 2021).
Purpose: to provide transportation subsidies for students with severe or extremely severe visual impairment, physical impairment, physical infirmity, multiple disabilities and other disabilities in actions who are unable to go to and from school by themselves.
Application Process:
Application requirements (in accordance with the following 3 conditions):
- Students enrolled in the University with proof from the Committee Responsible for Identification and Placement of Gifted and Disabled Students approved and issued by the Ministry of Education.
- Students with physical and mental disabilities that are classified into visual impairment, physical impairment, physical infirmity, and with multiple disabilities that cause them to be unable to get to and from school by themselves.
- Students who do not live on campus.
Those who meet the application requirements and intend to apply for the transportation expenses must make application to the Resource Room before the announced deadline and fill out the Application Form for Transportation Expenses for Students with Disabilities (Annex 1) as well as submit relevant documents to the Resource Room. Those who do not meet the application requirements, but intend to apply for the transportation expenses, must fill in the Affidavit (Annex 2) in addition to submitting the aforementioned documents.
Within two weeks after the application deadline, the Resource Room will organize the application cases, complete the professional evaluation, hold the review meeting, and submit the compiled review results to the Ministry of Education.
The Resource Room will inform students of the review results in writing.
Those pass the review will be subsidized NT$ 3,600 each semester. The subsidies for the new students and new applications of current students in the current year will be issued in the following year. The subsidies for the current students will be issued before the end of June and December each year.
- Review Criteria:
Those with mental or physical disabilities affecting their ability to go to and from the school and are thus unable to do so by themselves.
Those who are evaluated to be in need at the Individualized Support Services Planning Meeting held by the Center.
- Review Panel: consist of the director and researchers of the Special Education Center, professional evaluators and counselors of the Resource Room; students may be invited to attend the meeting if necessary.
The Regulations has been approved at the Center meeting before the implementation. The same applies to any amendments.
